Just like the 2024 Hyundai Elantra, the performance-oriented Elantra N is getting some noteworthy changes for the new model year. On top of an updated exterior design, the Elantra N gains some extra performance parts that are meant to improve its ride and handling. According to a leasing bulletin that Hyundai sent to dealers recently, pricing for the 2024 Elantra N will start at $34,815 with destination, representing an increase of $800 for the new model year.


Last year, the Elantra N used to start at $34,015. For an extra $800, the 2024 Elantra N gains an updated exterior design that brings better aerodynamics, a reinforced engine mount, new steering components, and urethane rear bushings for the suspension. Hyundai has also made upgraded to the Elantra N’s software and cut 33 pounds of unsprung weight by fitting the sedan with standard 19-inch wheels.

Hyundai’s certainly put a lot of work into upgrading the Elantra N and an $800 increase in pricing seems reasonable for what should be an even more enjoyable car to drive. The price hike for the Elantra N is also in line with Hyundai's price increase on the regular Elantra.
 


The Elantra N is expected to come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The automaker has fitted the Elantra N with new seats, an updated steering wheel, and a revised shift knob.

Under the hood, the Elantra N will continue to come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will be available. The eight-speed automatic transmission is currently an extra $1,500. We don't expect pricing for the automatic transmission to change for 2025, making the Elantra N with the eight-speed unit cost $36,315 based on our estimate. Power is routed through the front wheels.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N fits into an interesting place in the compact segment. It doesn’t have the power to match monsters like the Honda Civic Type R ($45,890) or the Volkswagen Golf R ($46,890), but it’s far cheaper than those two options. It has better performance than the Volkswagen Golf GTI ($33,190), Honda Civic Si ($30,195), and Subaru WRX ($33,855) while being priced in the same ballpark.

The Elantra N’s closest competitor is the Toyota GR Corolla which costs $37,595. That hot hatchback comes with a 300-hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive but doesn’t have the same high-end tech features as the Elantra N.
